Artist

Squire Broel lives and works in Walla Walla, Washington. Oil paint, watercolor, fabric, wood, bronze and glass are a few of the mediums that make up Broel's visual toolbox. He is continually exploring ways of expressing his thoughts, emotions and reactions in original form. He merges the fundamentals of his formal art training with his past work experience as the patineur at Walla Walla Foundry to form the foundation that his work is built upon. In his role as bronze coloration specialist he consulted with and worked for such artists as Jim Dine, Debby Butterfield, David Bates, and the late Nancy Graves.

Some of his public sculpture work in Walla Walla can be seen in front of the Cayuse Tasting Room (Blooms in August), at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Main Street (Lights of the Valley) and on the Whitman College campus (Three-Stories). The isolation of his location has allowed him to develop his own visual voice that is now gaining attention outside the Northwest. His work is exhibited both nationally and internationally.
